Siloam Spotlight: Ms. Darcy Ireland, SSHS Math Educator
The Siloam Spotlight recognizes Ms. Darcy Ireland, a dedicated Math Educator whose commitment to her students and colleagues has made her an invaluable member of the SSHS family. Known for her unwavering support, Darcy steps up whenever and wherever she’s needed.
"Darcy is an awesome coworker because she's willing to take on whatever is needed to better the whole team. She offers to fill in the gaps with tutoring and summer school, and students thrive in her classroom. She builds amazing rapport with her students, and they are so excited to have her here at the high school this year!" says Jana Ulaga, Math Department Chair.
Darcy’s passion for teaching and her ability to connect with students shines through daily. Her dedication doesn't go unnoticed by her peers. "Darcy has a positive attitude about her vocation of teaching. She tries really hard to find ways to connect the students to the learning and help them be successful. She is a precious jewel for our district and school," adds Paul Stambaugh, fellow math teacher.
But Darcy’s hard work doesn’t stop when the school bell rings. At home, she balances her role as an educator with being a devoted mother to her daughters, Capri and Carsyn, both SSHS students. "My mom works hard daily for her students and then comes home to me and my sister to continue being a mother. Although she is busy with work, she does her best to make it to all the volleyball games she can," says Capri.
Ms. Darcy Ireland’s dedication, both in the classroom and at home, makes her a standout in our school district and an inspiration to students and staff alike.
